Amir supports Shan against 'Parchi' chants

Shan Masood with Mohammad Amir - Twitter/@HussyAmirFormer Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir came forward in support of Shan Masood, who was called 'Parchi' during the fifth ODI against New Zealand in Karachi on Sunday. Amir reacted to the viral video in which fans were chanting 'Parchi' while Shan was fielding on the boundary line. The former pacer called out fans for ridiculing a national player. "Only Allah can make such fans happy. Shan Masood has made it into the team through his performance. I still believe Shan is the most hardworking player in Pakistan cricket," he wrote.  Shan played three ODIs against New Zealand and scored 52 runs with a highest score of 44. He replaced Imam-ul-Haq as an opener in the fourth and fifth ODI. Imam, who scored 90 in the third ODI and bagged the man-of-the-match award, was dropped from the squad in the last two games. Pakistan beat New Zealand in last ODIIftikhar Ahmed's effort went in vain as New Zealand bowlers were good enough to bowl out Pakistan for 252 runs and win the fifth and last ODI by 47 runs.The right-handed batter made solid effort to help Pakistan chase down 300 runs but wickets falling after regular intervals made it difficult for the home side. He scored 94 not out including eight boundaries and two maximums. Agha Salman also remained prominent with the bat as he scored 57 runs. He also partnered strongly with Iftikhar to give hope of survival for Pakistan. They both notched up a 97-run partnership.For New Zealand, Henry Shipley and Rachin Ravindra bagged three wickets each.
